Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Umutaka ("Umutaka", "we", "us") regarding your access to and use of www.umutaka.online and any related services (collectively, the "Site"). By accessing the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the Site. By using the Site you represent that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate.

2. Our content

All editorial content published on Umutaka — including articles, photographs, illustrations, audio, video, logos and the Umutaka name — is owned by Umutaka or licensed to us, and is protected by Rwandan and international copyright laws. You may read, link to, and share short excerpts of our articles with clear attribution and a link back to the original page. You may not republish, copy, sell, frame or redistribute full articles, images or video without our prior written permission.

3. User-generated content

Comments, tips, corrections and other content you submit ("User Content") remain yours. By submitting User Content, you grant Umutaka a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce, translate and distribute that content in connection with the Site and our promotion of it. You confirm that you own or have permission to share the User Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: post unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, threatening, obscene or sexually explicit content; impersonate others; spam, scrape or interfere with the Site; attempt to gain unauthorised access; upload malware; or use the Site to promote violence, discrimination or illegal activity. We may remove any content and suspend any account that violates these rules, at our sole discretion and without notice.

5. Editorial independence and corrections

Umutaka operates independently of any political party or advertiser. Our editorial standards are described on the Editorial Policy page. To request a correction or right of reply, email nshutidieudonne66@gmail.com.

6. Advertising

The Site is supported by advertising, including ads served by Google AdSense and direct sponsors. Ads are labelled and are kept distinct from editorial content. Sponsored or paid content, if any, is clearly disclosed.

7. Third-party links

The Site contains links to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of those third parties. Following a link is at your own risk.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy or availability. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Umutaka and its directors, employees and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Umutaka and its team from any claim, demand or damages arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and indemnity survive termination.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Kigali, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective date" above will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
